Decorative Glass Shelves / Floating Glass Shelves

This unique dripping edge is only possible in glass. Glass is by definition a super cooled liquid and I designed and built a kiln just to do this affect. I make custom furniture, custom shelves and custom bar tops using this dripped edge. I custom bend 3/4″ glass. Glass as a media is virtually untapped. Decorative glass shelves make a very strong design statement. They are to add to the art work they hold or display not over power them. Ligting is very important element and need to be addressed rigt from the start. I design and fabricate the custom hardware needed to install my contempoaray glass shelves. The key to designing Floating Glass shelves is the lack of hardware. You need  brackets to hold the decorative glass shelves but they must not be a focal point.

Custom glass shelves   and  custom hardware makes a real statement. I wanted to give a real floating feel to the shelves so I designed a simple bracket  that the glass shelf would just set on.  The glass shelf doesn’t  go all the way from post to post it stops short.

The  3/4″  thick custom glass shelves are very elegant . I like designing custom hardware ” its the detail” .

Floating Glass Shelves for Kitchen

Floating glass shelves or glass shelving can be popular accents to have in a home. A client approached Marc Konys and asked him to create floating glass shelves for a window in their kitchen. Marc worked with the client and presented this unique design for glass shelving. The client loved it and Marc went ahead and designed and installed the shelves. And now everyday the clients wake up and enjoy this beautiful view complimented by their unique floating glass shelves.

Glass wall shelves – Dripping Glass

Glass wall shelves or floating glass shelves can be a really cool accent to any room in your house. If you are new to the site, Marc Konys is known for creating amazing glass pieces. One of the amazing things that he has done with glass has been perfecting the drip technique. He decided to create glass wall shelves using this drip technique. Glass Shelves

These glass shelves were created not long ago for a Marc Kony’s client. As you can see, the client wanted to arrange and display several beautiful pieces of art within a room. The client asked Marc what he would do. Marc looked at the sculptures and designed the layout, the glass shelves, and the lighting. The client was delighted to see the beautiful and unique design. Marc then took the steps to make it a reality by creating and installing everything. He personally came to the house and installed everything himself.
