This unique dripping edge is only possible in glass. Glass is by definition a super cooled liquid and I designed and built a kiln just to do this affect. I make custom furniture, custom shelves and custom bar tops using this dripped edge. I custom bend 3/4″ glass. Glass as a media is virtually untapped. I feel there is so much more to be done in glass we can push it so much farther. ” Everything is yet to be done and not to be done over again” PICASSO
Decorative glass shelves make a very strong design statement. They are to add to the art work they hold or display not over power them. Ligting is very important element and need to be addressed rigt from the start. I design and fabricate the custom hardware needed to install my contempoaray glass shelves. The key to designing Floating Glass shelves is the lack of hardware. You need brackets to hold the decorative glass shelves but they must not be a focal point.
Hard to categorize custom stain glass art, dichroic glass window design or dichroic glass blown drips laminated to stain glass (gna)thats it. Its hard to show the color change with still shots I hope to post a video of the windows “SHOWERED WITH BLESSINGS” soon and video of making the glass drips.
I designed this glass kitchen sink that includes a built in garbage disposal . This glass pedestal sink has disposal in it. The pedestal is wrapped with stainless steel and has a floor switch to operate the disposal. Two and a half inch stainless steel stand offs hold the sink to the black granite counter top. I designed and installed it. If you like this glass kitchen sink and would like me to design one for you, please contact me.
I designed my kiln just so I could do this dripping glass edge. My shelf makes that” Chihuly.” I like designing glass furniture, glass shelves, bent glass picture walls, glass railings, glass floors, or anything in glass. I can cast glass ,bend glass, slump glass , blow glass, lost wax cast, lamp work, cold work (beveling) drill and mill glass I need good clients Interior Designers and Achitects that need ideas I have alot of them.
We designed these windows for the new Saint Edward High School (Lakewood, Ohio) chapel in late 2008. We created windows mounted with 1000 rainbow like glass drip pieces. Each of the individual drips radiate yellow green light in reflected light. In translucent light, the color shifts through the yellow to orange to red and to lavendar spectrum depending upon where you view it from.
The windows were created by laminating a diachloric film between the glass and the drip which allows the light to pass through and create a rainbow of colors. The final product, a non tradional stained glass window is a unique glass blowing technique that demonstrates the master craftsmanship of Marc Konys.
Yes I can design shelves that are made of metal. I design these minimal sheves to highlight the glass art. Made of stainless steel and powered with 12 volts this display of art glass is elegant and warm.
A painting of a antique firecracker label needed a special frame . Why not a box frame filled with 5000 firecrackers . I like doing things different. Need a idea how to frame something? Give us a call.
Custom glass shelves and custom hardware makes a real statement. I wanted to give a real floating feel to the shelves so I designed a simple bracket that the glass shelf would just set on. The glass shelf doesn’t go all the way from post to post it stops short.
The 3/4″ thick custom glass shelves are very elegant . I like designing custom hardware ” its the detail” .
